SYNOPSIS

Looking at life in the Artic. Longyearbyen is a small mining village located in the artic archipelago of Svalbard. One of the most important centres of artic studies is located here. The light touch of Grete Smedal has transformed life in this isolated by offering it a new identity. This artist seeks inspiration in the nuances of the land during summer that colours all buildings. Plunged into darkness for 3 months of polar nights, the inhabitants, coming from all over the world adapt to this colourful programme and claim it fully today. “Kaléidoscope” journeys to these extremes to meet the artist, the ice, the snow scooters, the inhabitants and … the invisible bears.
