SYNOPSIS

Kaleidoscope sketches the portrait of an unusual living space. The Academia Militar in Lisbon dates from 1959, offers a Polythechnique education and trains police officers. It is from here that some of the officers at the origin of the Carnations Revolution of 1974 came. In Portugal, higher military education dates back to the War of Restoration in 1641.
The military Academy is now divided between two sites, the headquarters in Lisbon (Queen's Court) and the appurtenances in Amadora. It is in Lisbon that the command and management organs are to be found, as well as the infrastructures for the students: from the boarding accommodation to the sporting facilities. Today, since the end of the last Portuguese colonial wars, military science concerns humanitarian interventions as much as the needs of civil society. It is to this "cultural" evolution that we wish to bear witness, in the company of the actors and witnesses of this place.
