SYNOPSIS

Ibiza, looking through a lens at a life that is wedged between sea and sky, tradition and modernity. On this island the contrasts multiply; techno parties, country life and the flow of tourists… The islanders reminisce about the history of their terrain. They talk about the renewal of traditional architecture in light of the chaos linked with modern tourism. They tell us of their fight to preserve natural sites. They recall the era of Raoul Hausmann, the Dadaist artist, on the island. His photos bear witness to Ibizan life between both World Wars. Going beyond current clichés, “Kaléidoscope” seeks to uncover the lesser-known aspects of Pine Island and the German artist Erwin Bechtold who moved there at the end of the 50s.
