SYNOPSIS

Frame is white – the landscape is fabulous ! In the Dolomites natural park where the town of Cortina was ruled from – elected “Queen of the Dolomites “- over a century ago. 6000 habitants live here in the middle of peaks, forests and many ski slopes….These spectacular scenes have been the backdrop to a number of films : from the “Pink Panther” to Stallone’s “Cliffhanger”. Kaleidoscope profiles the area and its inhabitants, looking at frames of history and tradition: from the system of land division, “Regole”, already 1000 years old, to the language of the valley - ampezzano. Daily life at a winter sports station, looking at luxury tourism alongside eco-tourism and the peculiarities and constraints of an economy high in the mountains.
